Silhouette

Hello bloggers!

At my computing class, we were practising with gimp. First I was like a fish out of water. But little by little I was learning, and at the end I've done this:

I really had fun making this, although the silhouette is a bit inaccurate to the original image but personally speaking  the result is quite good. :)

Social Networking Sites

Hello everybody!

Today I'm here again because i want to talk you about Social Networking Sites, abbreviated as SNS.

SNS are spaces where people can interact one with each other. We can distinguish three main types: The private ones that helps you to stay connect by sharing important moments with friends, family... Then we have the public ones who tend to be the best place to build relationships and grow your audience organically. And the last ones are the sharing interests communities that people often use them to learn about a skill, stay connect with professional contacts or post things they have learned. As any subject, SNS has advantages and disadvantages.

Some advantages are:
  1. Staying in touch
  2. New connections
  3. Aids in criminal cases
  4. Gives shy people an outlet
  5. Connecting kindred spirits
 And some disadvantages are :
  1. Cyberbulling
  2. Misinformation spreads like wildfire
  3. Easy prey
  4. Less real life interaction.
But a huge problem that we have in SNS, is the privacy. Once you publish something in the net, you lose he control of it and we give a way to cyberbulling  that means when somebody bully each other through electronic technology. And also we have another society through the Internet, what we call a virtual life.

Here is my presentation:

Sensors

  • What motion sensors are?
A motion dectector is a device that detects moving objects, particularly people, they form a vital component of security.
There are several types of motion detectors:

-Passive infrared (PIR): They detect person's skin temperature  through emitted black body radiation at mid-infrared wavelengths in contrast to the surrounding objects.

-Microwave: Similar to radar speed gun (an emission of a continuous wave of microwave radiation).

-UltrasonicAn ultrasonic wave (sound at a frequency higher than a   human can hear) is emitted and reflections from nearby objects are received.

-Tomographic motion detector:They sense disturbances to radio waves as they pass from node to node of a mesh network.

    -Video camera software: Digital cameras.

  • What sound detectors are?
The sound detector is a small board that combines a microphone and some processing circuitry
The use is as an alarm system, for example: if someone is trying to break into your house and break a window or something else, a sound detector will sense the sound coming from the breaking glass and set off an alarm.
